Currently the SELF Foundation has programs in three Houston Independent School District (HISD) Middle Schools in Houston, Texas: Francis Scott Key, Paul Revere and Meyerland Performing & Visual Arts Middle Schools. There are 4,000 students enrolled in these three schools that are impacted by the SELF programs. The students are offered opportunities to grow through Sports, Education, Life Skills and Faith.
The SELF Afterschool program meets several days a week, from the close of school until 6pm. Certified teachers meet with students for 60 minutes a day to give students extra academic enrichment and work with them to improve proficiency in STEM and other core subjects. Our Afterschool programs also includes tutorial assistance, life skills activities, financial literacy, field trips, sports activities and leadership training. There are 6 more programs that SELF students can join in addition to our Afterschool Program.
